Bose on Thursday introduced the SoundDock Series II, a digital music soundsystem designed for use with the iPod and iPhone. It costs $299 and will be available in early September.
The SoundDock Series II features a dock connector that enables you to plug in your iPod or iPhone directly; the device will charge your iPod or iPhone’s battery while it plays music through its built-in speakers. A wireless remote control is included that lets you access basic iPod and iPhone functions like playlist navigation, as well as volume control.
The SoundDock Series II has been designed to look similar to the SoundDock Portable — it measures 6 5/8 inches high by 12 inches wide by 6 1/2 inches deep.
The SoundDock Series II comes in Gloss Black.
Bose had not updated its Web site with information on the SoundDock II as Macworld posted this article.
