My Week with Marilyn Trailer

"First love is such sweet despair." Are you ready to finally meet Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe? The Weinstein Company has unveiled the official trailer for My Week with Marilyn, starring Williams as Monroe on her visit to London in the 50s to film The Prince and the Showgirl. This is being positioned as an Oscar heavyweight with some great performances, including from Eddie Redmayne as Colin Clark, Judi Dench as Sybil Thorndike, Kenneth Branagh as Laurence Olivier. For those that though Williams wasn't right, I'm curious to hear a reaction! I'm impressed, this looks beautiful, and I'm not just talking about her.

In addition to Williams as Monroe, the cast includes Eddie Redmayne, Kenneth Branagh as Sir Laurence Olivier, Dougray Scott as Arthur Miller, Dominic Cooper as Milton Greene, Emma Watson, as well as Julia Ormond. My Week with Marilyn chronicles a week in the life of Marilyn where she escapes the shackles of her Hollywood career and embraces British life with Colin Clark, who was assigned by Olivier to keep an eye on her while filming The Prince and the Showgirl. Directed by Simon Curtis (of British TV movies) and produced by David Parfitt, the movie is based on Clark's diaries and was adapted for the screen by Adrian Hodges (BBC's "Primeval"). TWC will be bringing this to limited theaters starting November 4th this fall.

Go see it anyways, I'm sure there will be chicks at the theater alone. I always see some rolling solo, pretty decent ones too.

Yeah, most of the girls goes to the theater alone are ugly.

most of the times, I did see a real gem once, When I went to go see Transformers 3 at the IMAX. Smoking hot, chick, all by her lonesome, walked out to her car by herself, left by herself, not like I was stalking her, just parked next to me. If I was single I would've at least attempted a smooth pick up. Probably would've crashed and burned like Maverick.

It appears that Michelle Williams understands the true nature of a biopic, by capturing the subject's soul. Joaquin did so in Walk The Line.

Did that trailer feel the slightest bit like The King's Speech? I got that vibe.

No. It was exactly like The King's Speech trailer;) But all things considered it looks quite promising.

Couldn't they have gotten someone younger or slimmer? The only similarity of Michelle to Marilyn is her blonde hair. I think Charlize would have been gorgeous.
