I have an ASUS P7P55D-E-LX that allows me to set a "Removable DEV" device as bootable (I'm assuming that a USB drive is one). When I load the ASUS bios .rom file onto my formatted USB drive and reboot, it just loads straight to Windows. The removable's priority is set to first. Do I need any other files on the USB? Is there a way to make the drive bootable? Does it have to be FAT32, NTFS, etc.? I have Windows 7 64-bit.

I saw that link before, but I thought it was only for booting the Windows installer off a USB drive. I tried it, but it did not work either.
After reading my motherboard's manual, I discovered that the board has a feature called ASUS EZ Flash 2. I just hold Alt + F2 and I'm brought to a screen in which I can flash my bios from any disk. I saw my regular hard drive listed as well, so I'm assuming that I could have left the .rom bios update there. I updated through my USB and it worked perfectly.
Unfortunately for any readers searching for a solution about making a bootable USB for other purposes, I have not been successful in this thread.
By the way, that flash was scary, almost as scary as installing my CPU when my motherboard began to creak! The power goes off for a second at least once or twice a week around where I live and I could not help think about it going off then.
