- Okay let me start with a pre-review as I haven't received the item yet and I will update here as soon as I get it.
Here's the link to the case: DODOcase for BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet | DODOcase
I sent an email to DoDoCase last night requesting customization on a Playbook case. I first got the BB Journal Case which I thought I loved until I realized I couldn't charge it while closed and that my line out cable was too big to fit into the rubber hole where the headphone jack is. So I did an awful lot of searching to find a case where the usb/hdmi connector side was on the outside of the case and all I could find was DoDoCase. However this meant that while listening to music in the car, I would have to leave the case open. i emailed them to ask if there's a way to notch the binding so that wouldn't be an issue and they offered to either drill a hole in the binding for the plug or to drill a hole in the outer bamboo so I can just reverse the Playbook when in the car. I don't want everyone to rush them with customization as we did discuss "additional charges", but I also don't want to reveal what that charge was as that's their business to discuss.
The point is, it was very nice to receive a quick response to customizing my order from an online company. I'll add details about the item as soon as I get it.
Edit: Review. I received my DoDoCase and I love it! First off, it's easy to get the Playbook in and out of the case by simply pusing on the rubber corner mounts. Second, the case has a great feel, although it is a little heavy for it's size. Because they drilled an extra hole for me in the case (at no charge) on the outside edge of the bamboo, I can hook it up to my car stereo or plug it into my charger without removing the case. You do have to remove the case for the rapid charger, but I think I would anyways due to it being a better way to use the Playbook so I don't see that as a problem.
There's no hole for the camera which is a bother, but you could drill one in. I think I would ask them to drill it for me and I'd pay for it if I were to order it again.
Overall, this is my 4th case, and I am very happy with it and highly recommend it. Incidentally, I also think it's a safety feature as the case makes it look like a Moleskin journal unless you look very closely.

- My Dodocase arrived today so I thought I'd throw up a quick review. Overall I'm very happy with the case, it's exactly what I was expecting. The overall build quality feels very sturdy and I love the look. The bamboo tray holds the PlayBook very securely to the point where it is a little difficult to get the device out. I've safely opened the case with the PlayBook face down and shaken the case and the PlayBook hasn't budged in the slightest. This is a plus for me because I was worried about the PlayBook easily falling out or flopping around a bit inside when carried around but I could see it being a minus for someone who plans to take it out of the case often (like to take pictures since the case doesn't have a lense cutout). I'm not sure if the rubber corners will loosen up over time but it's quite possible. The binding of the case is about 2/8ths of an inch wider than the PlayBook so the cover closes at an angle with the 'front' edge touching the corner bumpers and no part of the cover touching the PlayBooks screen. There is some give to the cover if pressed hard but the screen appears to be pretty well protected although the depth of the bamboo holder is fit almost exactly to the depth of the PlayBook. I might get a screen cover just to be safe if I find myself throwing this in a bag because dust/dirt, etc could easily get between the cover and screen. The elastic strap firmly closes the cover. The bamboo tray has cutouts for the buttons (on top) and the connection ports (on bottom). There is also a cutout for the headphone jack on the side closest to the binding. I haven't had a chance to test it yet but people whose headphones use an "L" shaped connector might have trouble.
Overall, I'm very happy with the case. It fits the PlayBook well and has the low-profile look I wanted. My only regret is that I got a red interior instead of sticking with the BlackBerry blue used on the neoprene case. I like the red/black combo but I kind of miss the blue/black thing that RIM had going on. Oh well. I highly recomend the Dodocase for anyone looking for a moleskin type case.

- I happened to order my DODOcase last night for the same reasons as the OP. I had reservations too about the headphone jack as my noise cancelling headphones have an "L" connector. I recall reading on another thread a few weeks back though that "L" connectors should be ok though. I'll wait and see for myself when the case arrives. I got the green one. Also got it for $6 off thanks to a coupon I found after a google search
The coupon code I used was "fryh04" found on retailmenot.com. Don't know if it is still valid though.senormojorisin likes this.05-05-11 01:14 AMLike 1 - I think whether or not your "L" connector will work depends on the length of the short part of the "L". The hole looks wide enough to accommodate most if they're long enough to span the width of the bamboo tray.
Here are a couple pics to help clarify:05-05-11 08:01 AMLike 0 - I just ordered mine! i hope it's worthy of their reputation
I used this coupon code and got a 6 dollar rebate! Sweet! <meta charset="utf-8">I just bought a DODOcase and unlocked this deal:05-06-11 11:31 AMLike 0 - i received mine the other day too. i was really looking forward to it and am mostly pleased except there is no cut-out for the rear camera. i suppose for some people it's not a big deal to remove the pb from the case but i like to take spontaneous photos. so unfortunately i'll be returning the case05-06-11 12:41 PMLike 0

- For you guys with the Dodocase in hand, how is the fit of the PB and the four foam stopper things? I've seen some vids on youtube of iPad owners with the case and even at the slightest angle, the iPad would tilt right out of the case.05-07-11 07:08 PMLike 0
- Mine stays in very tight and snug. I've held it upside down and no problem. In fact, it's tough to get out until you learn to apply pressure to two of the rubber stoppers at the same time. comes out quick and easy once you do that.05-26-11 04:27 PMLike 0

i got my case about 3 weeks ago and my playbook refuses to leave the case no matter how much you shake it.05-26-11 05:47 PMLike 0 -
- Got mine today and its what I expected and more. Very classy and PB stays in place. Kind of hard to get out but once you apply pressure on the rubber stoppers it makes it a lot easier to remove from case. I would recommend this case to anyone.06-02-11 08:18 PMLike 0
- I like the dodo but i like the feel of the playbook without a case. Just like the iphone4 I bought several cases that ruined the experience of having the device in your hand. Cases seem to make all devices seem the same. The dodo creates a larger footprint when using the device. Playbook is sleek and small which is why I bought it and why it grabs attention. Just my opinion.06-04-11 07:23 AMLike 0
- the dodo case (strange name) looks nice.
i just got my targus zierre today which i ordered a while back from ipmart (i live in Dubai, UAE).
the targus zierre is a sweet case. truly looks professional and it looks solidly built. the inner red suede also looks well made.
i can use it also as a stand while it has pockets to keep business cards and a pen holder spot (future stylus once proper note taking programs are out). it also comes with a small wipe for the screen.
i wanted one for my business travels so i got the targus but i also got the leather sleeve from this website which is also nice for daily use and both give the PB good protection.06-04-11 07:38 AMLike 0
