• A challenging shooter's delight with stunning graphics.

  Pros

  I have a fondness for shooting games and Insectoid delivers the goods. Even the "Normal" version (vs. Easy or Hard) is a challenge. The graphics are sharp and colorful, the musical score is good and control is easy with a keyboard.

  Cons

  The ships have only lateral movement. It would be nice, but probably whole different game if the ships flew verically as well. A very minor point, really, as Insectoid is fast-paced and challenging enough as it is.

  Summary

  I grew up on games like Galaxian, Asteroids, and Space Invaders, so similar games appeal to me. Insecoid doesn't play all that similar to any of the old games, but it does bring them to mind. I like playing games on my computer, and I like shooting games, and I like colorful graphics. This game does not disappoint me on any level.
