Coda - Web develment

Coda is an all in one web development tool from Panic. It is a very complete tool that features a built in FTP client, reference book, editor, and terminal. This application has a real Mac feel to it. It is not free but definitely worth the investment.

Stanza - eReader

Stanza is an application that you may already know from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch. This is the eReader for your Mac that lets you open various different formats including Epub. Happy ereading!

Blogo - Blogging

Blogo is another application to easily publish text, images, videos, slideshows and more. The app has a simple, intuitive interface and support for Wordpress, Blogger, Typepad, Typo, Drupal, Joomla, and Expression Engine. It will allow you to maintain your blog and spread the word with Twitter, Ping.fm and other supported services.

MarsEdit - Blogging

MarsEdit is on of the best best blog editor applications for the Mac. Compatible with many different blogging systems, WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr, for example. Amongst many other functions it allows you to have custom markups, perfect for custom CSS styles. It also has a great tool for adding Technorati tags.

X-lite - Softphone VOIP

X-lite is a VoIP soft phone that uses the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). In order to use the client you need set up an account with providers such as Voipbuster.

Winebottler - Windows on Mac

Winebottler is an application that allows you to run windows applications on your Mac. The first question is why would you want to do that? But then again there are instances when this is handy. The installation of programs may take some time, so be patient. For programs to work I recommend you to follow the "how to" steps.

CloudApp - Storage

CloudApp is a completely free, extremely easy to use, and very useful application for anyone looking for a better way to share files.

Watts - System maintenance

Watts is a great application that functions as a calibration tool for your Mac battery. Use this tool to extend the battery life of your Mac.

Caffeine - System

Caffeine is a tiny application that puts an icon in the right side of your menu bar. Click it to prevent your Mac from automatically going to sleep, dimming the screen or starting screen savers. Click it again to go back. Hold down the Command key while clicking to show the menu.

Anxiety - Productivity

Anxiety is an application that provides a streamlined, easily accessible interface to add and check off your tasks, while remaining poised to melt into the background at a moments notice.

Liquid Mac - Fun

LiquidMac - Fun little app to mimic the behavior of liquid by creating a particle system that reacts to the computer's orientation. This app uses the motion sensor in your mac. Have fun playing around.

Dropbox - Storage

Dropbox is an excellent application that lets you easily share files on multiple computers or with friends. You get 2 gigas of free space and can earn op to 8 more by inviting others. Paid accounts available up to 100 GB.

AppFresh - Utility

AppFreshis a great application that keeps all of your Mac applications up-to-date and most important of all automatically. Still in beta, but so necessary.

Tofu - Reader

Tofu makes reading on your computer a whole new experience and much more like reading a book. Drag or paste text into Tofu and it arranges everything in classy columns that scroll side to side (not up and down). This is ergonomic reading on your Mac.

xPad - Word processing

xPad is an excellent application that serves great as a word processorFor most writing a word processor. Your notes sit in a sidebar and save automatically when you quit. Way better than stickies or TextEdit.

SpamSieve - Email

SpamSieve is an application for anybody who uses Mail for Mac. After a few days of training, SpamSieve will obliterate junk mail and leave good emails untouched. The app is free for the first 30 days, then worth every penny.

CandyBar - Icon customization

CandyBar - Is a great application that allows you to customize all icos. In addition it can be used to manage icons.

DeskLickr - Desktop

DeskLickr is a simple application that uses the large photo resource of Flickr to change your wallpaper every so often. Makes a cool change.

GraphicConverter - Conversion

GraphicConverter is a great image-manipulation applicatoin that used to come free with the Mac.

ApGrapher - Wifi detection

ApGrapher is a great little program that offers the ability to find information about the wireless networks whizzing around your head.

UnRarX - File compression

UnRarX is an applications that gives you the abilty to easily uncompress .rar files. Very good, although stuffit can now handle .rar files.

Disk Inventory X - System maintenance

Disk Inventory X is a simple program that scans your disk and visually shows what files takes up how much space, good to visualize if you are running out of space and you have some size hogs.

Skim - PDF Reader

Skim is a great application for PDF reading. The new version is almost perfect certainly in the field of full screen reading and presentation. Easier to use as a viewer than Adobe Reader. The ability to attach notes is an added plus.

iWillQuit - Maintenance

iWillQuit is a a very usefull little application that is sure to save your laptops hard drive. If you have a network in your house, schedule it to download files at night so as to not slow down others using the network or to keep your VOIP working without delay. Apple’s scheduler will not shut down/sleep while there is an internet radio stream, but iWillQuit does. iWillQuit works just as it said it does, shuts down, sleeps, etc.

ImageWell - Picture editing

ImageWell is the easy way to edit, rotate, crop, and resize your image and upload it to your iDisk (.mac account), FTP server, or WebDAV server. No need to launch multiple applications to add text, labels, thought clouds, talking balloons, drop shadows, watermarks, and shapes.

iCompt - Personal finance

iCompta is an application that lets you manage your personal accounts with ease and it also lets you reconcile transactions which are on your bank reports and therefore check that you are up to date with your accounts

Quinn - Games

Quinn is an arcade-style tetromino puzzle game written and designed specifically for Mac OS X. It features a clean, elegant user interface, beautiful graphics, and smooth, subtle animations for fluid gameplay. One of the most simple yet addictive games ever.

iAlertU - Alarm system

iAlertU is the first of its kind alarm system for your Apple MacBook computer. Basically iAlertU is a car alarm for your Apple Mac. iAlertU uses the built in sudden motion sensor (SMS) device to detect movement of your Apple MacBook and triggers an audible and visual alarm. The alarm can also be triggered by keyboard and mouse/trackpad movement.

iShowU is an application that takes a direct recording of your screen. Great if you want to make recordings of specific applications. A good CPU is important for this application

Name Mangler - Editing

Name Mangler is a usefull application if you need to rename several files at once every now and then. It supports all common tasks: Find and Replace (including support for regular expressions); Number Sequentially; Change Case; Set Extension; Add Prefix/Suffix; Remove/Insert Characters.

Drive Genius 2 - Maintenance

Drive Genius is an excellent application that allows you to manage your harddrive. Although not free it is an excellent tool to speed up your Mac after having used it for some time. Defragmentation is something for Windows, but Mac drives also get cluttered. This application allows you clean up your Mac.

Desktop curtain - tool

Desktop curtain is a small application that allows you to throw a curtain up in front of your existing desktop. If you have a messy desktop and often give presentations this may the solution. Just "close" the curtain and you have a clean desktop.

Tidy Up - Organization

Tidy Up is a nice application that allows you to search through a list of files finds duplicates. Great if you have many files and you need to organise them.

SiteSucker is an application that automatically downloads web sitesfrom the Internet. It does this by copying the site’s HTML documents, images, backgrounds, movies, and other files to your local hard drive. Just enter a URL and click a button an SiteSucker can download an entire web site.

Compress - File compression

Compress is an applicaton that lets you compress your files or folders (for sending them over the internet or whatever other reason) in a variety of formats — tar, bzip, gzip, p7zip, and zip — by simply dragging and dropping.

AppFresh - System Maintenance

AppFresh is very useful free tool that keeps all applications on your Mac up to date by checking the internet for new releases and makes downloading and installing them a breeze.
